The City of Milwaukie Neighborhood Main Street Project is holding several public outreach events for light commercial improvements along S.E. 32nd Ave. and S.E. 42nd Ave.
A walking tour will take place Saturday, March 10 for both S.E. 32nd Ave. and S.E. 42nd Ave. The 32nd. Ave. tour meets at Art House (9401 S.E. 32nd Ave.) at 11:00 a.m. The 42nd Ave. tour meets at 7-Elevens (10435 S.E. 42nd Ave.) at 1:00 p.m.
During both walking tours, residents and neighbors will be able to point out the likes and dislikes, and provide feedback on what they would like to see in the future.
At a workshop event on Wednesday, March 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lewelling Elementary School (5325 S.E. Logus Rd.), residents and business owners will be able to share opinions about the commercial areas.
Residents are encouraged to take the online survey.
Milwaukie city staff and Portland State University graduate students assisting in the project are contacting residents and businesses about the future of these neighborhood areas.
Ryan Marquardt, Milwaukie Planning Department, along with two Portland State University graduate students, introduced the program at the Ardenwald-Johnson Creek Neighborhood meeting on Feb. 14.
A Neighborhood Main Street Project page has been set up at Ardenwald.org for updates from Ardenwald NDA and for links to project websites.
