Milwaukie Bulk Residential Waste Disposal Event June 9th

Milwaukie garbage haulers will be picking up large, bulky household items on the second and third Saturdays in June. For Ardenwald residents in Milwaukie, the pickup date is Saturday, June 9, 2018. (The third Saturday on June 16 pickup is for residents south of Ore. 224 and west of Ore. 99E north of Ore. 224.)

All acceptable items must be placed out where the bins are placed by 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

The event is intended for single-family residential Milwaukie garbage customers with items that do not fit in the weekly garbage cans and cannot be sold or donated.

Commercial, residents in multi-family units, and Ardenwald residents within the Portland city limits are not eligible to participate.

Items remaining at curbside on Sunday likely means the item is not acceptable.

Accepted items include:

  • Small appliances (not containing freon) – microwaves, toasters, blenders, etc.
  • Furniture – Couches (six feet long or equivalent), recliners, tables
  • Mattresses – Maximum of one king-sized set or equivalent
  • Smaller items – Must be bagged, not exceed 30 lbs. and only contain items from the accepted list.
  • Carpet (and pad) – Must be rolled, tied and not to exceed 30 lbs. or six feet in length
  • Long, loose items – Long, loose items, such as lumber, window blinds, pipes, brooms and mops, etc. Must be tied into bundles no longer than six feet in length and weighing no more than 30 pounds per bundle.
  • Metal – Small engines (no fluids), bicycles, exercise equipment, file cabinets, water heaters (drained), etc.
  • Tires – No more than six tires.

Items must not exceed the equivalent of five garbage bags or one couch.

Unaccepted items include:  daily household garbage, hazardous waste, paint, computers and computer accessories, TV’s, appliances containing freon (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, etc.), fluorescent fixtures and bulbs, industrial waste, engines, propane tanks, construction debris, broken glass, any glass items with dimensions larger than 2 ft. by 4 ft. (mirrors, patio doors, etc.), rocks, roofing materials, etc.
