Hello all Friend of Tideman Johnson!
It’s been a doozie of a year hasn’t it? I hope you are coming through this pandemic + windstorm + fire and smoke OK.
Our last restoration event was the Watershed Wide Event back in March, and Lisa led a small group for the annual Johnson Creek Cleanup in August. Tideman Johnson misses us!
We’re going to start up our restoration work on Saturday October 3rd, 9am-noon.
Our main focus will be trash pickup, but we may pull some ivy near the wetland if there’s time.
Things are going to be a little different this year:
No more than 10 volunteers – that means RSVP is required (really, don’t skip this!)
- Visit the Portland Parks Volunteer Sign-in form to Register
- Event Date = 10/3/20
- Event Site = Tideman Johnson
- If there are more than 10 RSVPs, you will be put on a wait list
- Susan will follow up late next week to confirm RSVPs and contact waitlist people if space becomes available
Complete the health screening available at the Multnomah County Symptom Checker
- DO NOT attend the event if you or anyone in your household is feeling the least bit sick
Bring your own gloves, tools, and hand sanitizer
- We will have a few disposable gloves just in case, but bring your own if possible
Wear a mask, stay 6 feet apart
- You must be more than 20 feet away from other people to remove your mask
Alas, we can’t provide food and drink
- Please bring your own snacks and refreshments
I hope you can join us on October 3rd – even with all these rules, it will be great to see people.
Thanks!
Marianne
