Hello all Friends of Tideman Johnson,

September is almost over, and that means the first Tideman Johnson Restoration event of the fall season is coming right up.

We are continuing the fall tradition of removing invasive weeds near the wetland and around our plantings from last year. The soil should nice and soft – all the better for yanking out ivy, blackberry and other nasties.

Don’t forget to bring your boots if you like mucking about, and note that this wetland area has some stinging nettles, so please wear long sleeves. (You might think that stinging nettles are all bad, but they’re not! Nettles are a valuable native, and we won’t be pulling them out.)

Saturday October 5th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Lots of tools, snacks, great people, good times!

Meet up at the boardwalk:

From at SE 37 & Tenino, south of SE Crystal Springs Blvd, walk down the hill to the boardwalk. Or from the SE 45th trailhead, bike or walk the Springwater Corridor Trail west to Tideman Johnson Park. Follow the path to the left to the boardwalk.

We hope you see you out there!

Marianne
