It’s time to check those bicycle tires, lube that chain, fit your helmet and roll on out to the first-ever dual city Sunday Parkways on Oct. 2nd! Both Portland and Milwaukie are sharing the family-friendly 8.5-mile Sunday Parkways route touring through Sellwood-Moreland and several Milwaukie neighborhoods.

The route includes a tour of the Ardenwald-Johnson Creek neighborhood along SE 29th Ave. and SE Olsen St., and four event stops, including one stop at Water Tower Park at the corner of SE Harvey St. and SE 40th Ave. (Phase 1 of the tower repair is expected to be completed by Sep. 30 and the park reopening Oct. 1.)

Streets will be closed to motor vehicles on the event route. City of Milwaukie ensures local residents on the route (including the dead-ends west of 29th Ave.) will have access.

City of Milwaukie is seeking volunteers to help out with the event. For more information, to view the route map, to volunteer, or to contact for questions, please visit the City of Milwaukie’s Sunday Parkways page.
