The Friends of Tideman Johnson Park are teaming up with the Johnson Creek Watershed Council and the Xerces Society to participate surveying native freshwater mussels on Saturday, June 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Volunteers will learn about the freshwater mussel and have the opportunity to assist with the field research.
The event is open to all ages. Volunteers should wear footwear suitable for walking in the creek, such as waders, sneakers, or closed-toe sandals (open-toe sandals and rubber boots are not the best for walking on slippery rocks).
Volunteers will meet at the Tideman Johnson Park parking area at S.E. 45th Ave. and S.E. Johnson Creek Blvd.
RSVP is required. Those interested in participating the survey need to RSVP to Amy Lodholz at amy@jcwc.org or call 503-652-7477.
