Friends of Tideman Johnson Park is having a work party to do some planting and cleanup this Saturday.
Friends of Tideman Johnson Park coordinator Marianne Colgrove said there are plants left over and the soil is moist enough for planting.
She will also have information available about the Backyard Habitat Certification Program event on April 9. It is a program through the Portland Audubon Society and Columbia Land Trust, which provides incentives for private property owners in the Johnson Creek Watershed to remove invasive weeds and plant native plants.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome to volunteer at the work party. Work tools and refreshments are provided. Volunteers should be dressed to work in wet and muddy conditions.
The work party is on Saturday, April 2, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Tideman Johnson Park trail head at S.E. 37th Ave. and Springwater Trail.
