Light rail project funding changes calls for special meeting

MILWAUKIE, Ore.-A special city council meeting will be held Tuesday night to discuss the latest funding decision for the proposed Portland to Milwaukie Light Rail project.

The Milwaukie City Council plans on hearing TriMet’s response to the Federal Transportation Administration’s decision on July 23rd to provide 50 percent federal funding for the project. TriMet originally requested 60 percent federal match for the project.

The special meeting will be held at Milwaukie City Hall (10722 S.E. Main St. in Milwaukie) on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at 6 p.m. Milwaukie Mayor Jeremy Ferguson plans to allow public testimony at this meeting.
